Meet Mrs. Twitchell - Reading Intervention

I’m the youngest of four sisters, married to Derek Twitchell and the mother of one daughter, Emily, and 2 pets. My husband and I have known each other since we were 8 years old and we grew up in Romulus, Michigan.

In high school, I ran cross country and track, played trumpet in all of our bands (jazz, marching and symphony), was a member of the National Honor Society, ski club, student government, and also worked on our school newspaper. I graduated from MSU in 1993 and then moved to Southern California because I wanted to be a bilingual teacher.

I taught in Santa Ana for 19 years before moving to Chester in 2014. This is my 29th year of teaching, 9th at CES. My favorite part about working with children is when they make me laugh.

Outside of school, I like spending time with friends and family, cooking, bike riding, walks, yoga, spa days, and RV trips. My favorite children’s book is Lafcadio by Shel Silverstein or the Wayside School Series by Louis Sachar.
Meet Mrs. Otto - SPED-RSP

My husband and I have been married for 4 years. We have a fur baby named Heidi, she is a German Shepherd.

I've been a teacher for 5 years.

My favorite part about working with children is getting to see their progress and growth throughout the school year.

My favorite things to do outside of school are garden and hang out with family.

My favorite children's book is anything about dogs.

Meet Mrs. Newell-SDC

With great pleasure, I am now a Chester Volcano, however, I have had a wonderful life before starting this new adventure. I have been teaching for the last 23 years. Most of my teaching has been in Special Education, but I have been known to dabble in general education, also. I immensely enjoy watching the growth of each student.
I am a wife to a wonderful husband and the mother of triplets, whom make me proud every day! I like to read, crochet, and play with my animals. My favorite book is by Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You Will Go!
Meet Mrs. Bereznak- Speech

My name is Dawn Bereznak, I have been a speech therapist for 25 years specializing in early intervention and school age speech services. My husband and I have been married for 31 years, we have four children and 3 grandchildren who all attended Chester schools. My favorite part about working with children is watching their confidence grow as they learn the power of language.  My favorite book is Jesus Calling which reminds me of what we are here for and to share love everyday as it is the only thing we will never run out of so give it away in abundance.
