Meet Mrs. Cardona

Kara Cardona, a native of Lake Almanor, has been a teacher for twenty six years. A graduate of Chico State University, Mrs. Cardona became entered the teaching profession after being inspired by her own first grade teacher.

Mrs. Cardona loves teaching first grade because she says there is no greater gift than teaching a child to read. Mrs. Cardona also loves the traditions that occur during first grade including celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday and the 100th Day of School. Her favorite children’s book is Pete the Cat and Mrs. Cardona weaves that story into reading and art projects in her classroom.

Mrs. Cardona enjoys spending time with her family, reading, camping, and walking her dog when she is away from school. She also loves the color purple, tacos, and pizza. Mrs. Cardona plans to travel to Arizona frequently to visit her daughter who just left for college.
